Entertainment to enterpainment
This blog post talks about entertainment and media. Films, Tv shows, Texting, Social Networking, Internet, Websites, blogs, Video chat, e-mail computer and video games, they all seem to make our earth life easier and fun. But there is a dark side to everything especially sin. First of all there is a lot of dangerous stuff on the web, such as computer viruses, worms, spyware, malware, trojans, spam, cyberbullies, people and websites that steal private information and money! Plus there are ads that advertise pornography, alcohol, drugs, smoking and other sins. Plus even though games are fun, they might hold bad content. That is why there are rating systems. And all this stuff might keep us away from, friends, family and church! The mind is really deciving, what may seem harmless and carefree, could be violent and vulgar. My do something called tech time which limits my time on games, computer etc.to 90 min. a day. But when it's saturday she letsme go nuts. Now that I told you about it, why don't you try it?

Teenager Times
Hours before my birthday when we were showing Grandma Bonny our trip to Thailand , it was 11:40 pm, my brother told me that in 20 min it would be Jan. 3rd, my birthday. When it was Midnight, my family gave me an early happy birthday. When I woke up that morning, I was finally a teenager. My goals are to be a good teen and deacon by reading scriptures and praying daily. Later that evening, me and Grandpa Bob bought a cake, my dad ordered Thai food, and mom wrapped my presents. Before we ate, I opened my presents from everyone. They were a book on Chinese Proverbs, an App Store $15 doller gift card, $10 and 77 cents, 3 Nintendo Wii games which were Nicktoons vs. MLB Super Mario Strikers and Lego Harry Potter. I also got three games for my Computer. They were Ages of Empires III, Ages of Empires III Asian Dynasties and Battlefield 1942. But when I got all those nice things I felt kind of bad because there is a lot of people in the world who don't even get those kinds of gifts. So I felt grateful for what I got.

Christmas and the New year
In this post Ilike to talk about Christmas. When I dicovered that Christmas was on a sunday, at first I was disappointed because I won't be able to play anything, but overtime I discoverd that Christmas was extra special on sundays because we get to know the nativity more. what I really wanted for Christmas was a Wii and a Rosetta Stone Mandarin, but mom said they were expensive, but on Christams Day, I got them!!!!!
The reason why because I never lost faith, trust and hope. On Christmas Day I got a big package, but when I opened it the was a small present inside instead of a big gift. Biggest lie of the week! But when I opened the small present. It was my Rosetta Stone Mandarin! Her's some advice, the greatness of the gifts you get are not by size but value. A large gift may have a small value. while a tiny gift may have an enormous value. Next time it's December i'm going remember the Nativity more.
For the new year, i'm going study the scriptures more often, be better in school and be a good deacon and live a rightous life by passing the sacrament and not playing bad video games.
Remember, keep the Christ in Christmas.

conflict, sickness and trials
I ment to do this post a long time ago. Weeks ago was The Attack on Pearl harbor's 70th anniversery! It began with Akagi, Kaga, Soryu, Hiryu, Shokaku, Zuikaku, 'Vals', 'Kates', and a bunch of Zeros. While anonymous people were attending church, and on the Battleships, such as Arizona, the bases expolded, ships were sunk, innocent people lost thier lives. The shadow of war had just crept on to America's doorstep! It wasn't until 1945, that the great clash between Washinton DC, London and Moscow and Berlin, Rome and Tokyo ceased.Even though it was a tough time for the US. It was the attack that helped the USA enter the war and win it.
We all have problem in our lives, for example, I have had a sickness that develops a rash and spreads tiny bumps on me skin. The cause is a mystery, I discovered it at school. when my mom first saw it she was not to worried. But now its spead on my forehead to my lower chest. My mom kept me home from school for a couple of days to make sure I don't spread it. I don't know if it's an virus or an allergic reaction. I visited two docters who had no idea what it was. But my spirits are high. My brother calls it Steeasles and I call it Shippen Pox. I'm pretty confident that it will leave and I will get better.
Here's a reminder, everything on earth is flawed and we all have trials. But overcoming them is a step to eternal life.

I'll miss you grandma Dora
In this post I will like to tell you about my Great Grandma Dora.
The day after yesterday I went to Southern Alberta because yesterday was my Grandma Dora's funeral. On the 29th of November she died after being in a coma. Once I heard about her death, my heart broke into pieces. Since that day, i'd never been able to keep my mind off her. We arrived at the church early, and once we did we looked at pictures of when she was young. We also saw her dead mortal body lying in a coffin with the lid open. She was in her temple clothes, and it looked like she was sleeping. Only she wasn't. In the coffin she looked so peaceful. Moments later we went to the chapel. There we sang songs, had prayers, and grandma Shipley and aunt Barbara told about her life. After that we went to Temple Hill Cemetary. After they took the coffin out, said a prayer and we said goodbye to everyone, I burst into tears.

I loved her with my life. She was very special to me, like a diamond. In my prayers I always mentioned her fulfilling her mission in the spirit world, and that Grandpa Harold would always feel the spirit while he is lonely.
The best way that I can show love for Grandma Dora is by being a good deacon, teacher, priest, and missionary. Her death is like a scar, but soon faith will heal it.

CLEAN LANGUAGE IS COOL
In this post I like to take about profanity and write a review about nocussing.com.
When I went to my Bishop Youth Discussion, my bishop showed me a movie about clean language. It talked about a boy who has been hearing profane language at his school. So he starts the No Cussing Club and his uncle creates a website called nocussing.com that got over 200 000 members. However sadly his website has been hacked 3 times and the hacker puts on profanity and pornography. There even been bomb and death threats, and packages telling him to give up. All he ever wanted to do was end profanity, and idiots hack into his website!? Seriously! Blaspheme and Profanity are really offensive to god and other people! And about nocussing.com. I think it his great that the uncle started a website as well as his nephew starting the No Cussing Club.
If you had a choice between $100 and joining the No Cussing Club, Choose the club, I can think of a more benefits of joining the club than with $100!
Instead of using obscene language here are some replacements
f-word - Frack, water fracker (since tracking to get natural gas taints the water)
Bull****- Bolshivek
d-word- hoover dam
s-word- shiitake (mushrooms)
a-word- acid or acid bath

Lest We Forget
For remembrance day to remember those who died in many wars and those who are still fighting, I would like to post a poem made by my brother Grayson.

IN WAR: Past, Present and Future
Soldiers sail overseas,
Their wives and children are filled with pleas!
Crossing their fingers because they don't know,
What lingers on the trenches
On the benches below!
In Flander's Fields poppies grow,
Where soldiers bloodstreams used to flow
Beams of light
screams at night
Winds blow
Grenades explode
Fill the troops with so much fright!
Bi-planes fight in the bright blue sky
Soldiers know they're gonna die
Crosses cross row by row
Their spirits fly in the blue night sky
Now they are in Afghanistan
Fighting the Taliban
Soldiers walk in the dark
Trying not to get a mark
Guns, grenades where the light's gonna fade
Guns and grenades blazing
Soldiers gazing
Artillery fire, soldiers gonna die here
Rotting bodies, decaying hobbies
River of blood, what a dud
Tears drop,
Fears mop and grow
Now in the future, poppies grow where blood flowed
On Remembrance Day
We think of soldiers fighting and dying
-- by Grayson Fox Shipley

I hope we remember the people who are giving their lives to protect our freedom!
